Pineview Recreational Trail Network

IMPORTANT: The ‘Westside’ trails of Pineview are closed annually from December 1st - June 1st for grazing.

The ‘Eastside’ trails are closed annually from December 1st to April 1st or weather pending.

This trail network is closed and not maintained during the winter.

OVERVIEW:
The Pineview Recreational Trail Network is a diverse landscape with a myriad of landowners / managers and various types of lands ranging from grazing leases/licenses, private land, municipal and provincial Crown, mining/placer claims, and several different types of tenures/easements. The network is a true testament to collaboration, advocacy and mutual stewardship of all parties. This trail network is unique in that the trails co-exist in an active ranching and grazing area, showcasing the legacy of ranching in the area and the importance of a strong social license within the mountain bike community.

Due to the overlapping use with ranch activities, the ‘Westside’ of Pineview is closed from December 1st to June 1st annually for grazing.  It is critical that all users respect this closure, failure to do so jeopardizes the social license and may result in further limitations on access.

The KPCC is proud to be the appointed steward of the trails, maintaining and managing the trails on behalf of the key players (KGHM International, Sugarloaf Ranch, Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources and Rural Development, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, and the City of Kamloops) and other private landowners.  KPCC serves as the manager and advocates on all mountain bikers behalf for continued access to the trails, which we are privileged to ride and maintain.  Furthermore, we would like to acknowledge and thank all of the stakeholders for the opportunity to recreate this unique landscape.

Commercial and organized use (events) are not permitted in this trail network.

Trail Closures due to Provincial Orders

In BC, the Emergency Program Act permits the head of a local authority to declare a state of local emergency, which allows the local authority to order closures, or evacuation should it be absolutely necessary.
